Everyone is a christian until things get biblical.
This Sunday Morning Message at the GBC: "The Death and Burial of Jesus" (Text: Matthew 27:45-60) The whole story of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection is the story of how God overruled the evil purposes of Satan and men to bring hope and forgiveness and eternal life to everyone who comes to Him through trusting in Jesus. It doesn’t matter how tragic or difficult your circumstances are, God is far, far bigger than them and He is able to work through them, with them and in spite of them for His greater purposes. It may be this morning that you have been focussing on your difficult circumstances and becoming more anxious or discouraged. Isn’t it time to hand them over to God and keep your eyes on Him and trust Him with them? He who turned the horror of the cross into the glory of salvation for all humanity can do the same with your circumstances. Be encouraged in the Lord, He will make a way! ~Pastor Scott
"Stop The Madness And Live Your Victorious Identity In Christ" A church (or religious cult) that teaches "grace by works" is like hooking your dog's leash to your bumber and saying, "If you can keep up I'll love you." For this very reason many people spend half their lives striving for grace all while living an anything-but-enjoyable (so called) christian life of habitual backsliding. These type cults teach self redemption instead of Gods Love, Acceptance, and Grace. Their implications are that some can perhaps be "more saved" than others and thus certain individuals are ordained the septre of guilt and shame to wield in their religious subordinate's directions. "Grace by works" is the Devils strategy from the inside out. Essentially it was engineered by satan to get us to rely on ourselves instead of Christ's atoning death. Just Remember! There is absolutely nothing you can or cannot do that will make God love you any more or any less. While we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Jesus even washed the feet of Judas because He loved us before we loved Him. We don't strive for Grace we simply receive Grace. God loves you 😊 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." ~Ephesians 2:8 ~ Pastor Scott

How are your personal Bible studies? If there's one thing I've always tried to make paramount as a pastor it's cultivating a solid, healthy, and hungry Bible reading & study practice. This (attached) is a pic of my daily home study page from our adult sunday school quarterly. I attach these inside my Bible cover with each new quarterly, this one I just completed last week. Even if you can't attend our Sunday School I encourage you to pick up a quarterly at church anytime and study on your own throughout the weeks and months. And when you can make it we certainly look forward to seeing you on Sundays at 10am for study & breakfast. Just remember - Bible study is exactly what you make of it 😉 ~ Pastor Scott
🇺🇸 In respect to Memorial Day we will being moving our evening service to Huse Mausoleum for our community candlelight vigil scheduled at 8pm. There will be no regularly scheduled evening service at the GBC.

This Sunday Morning Message at the GBC: "Rahab: Deciding To Trust God" (Text: Joshua 2 ; Hebrews 11:31) In todays message the spies had aroused suspicions among some of the people of Jericho and the king soon heard about them. He sent a delegation to Rahab’s house to ask that the spies be turned over to the Jericho police force. Rahab was faced with having to make a split-second decision. Would she do the patriotic thing and turn over the spies to the king? Or would she lie and become a traitor by sheltering the enemies of her people? That is a big decision for anyone to make. And Rahab did not have several hours or several days to think it over or to consult with people she trusted. She had to make that decision quickly. You know from the text what decision she made. The spies, at least for the moment, were safe under the stalks of flax on her roof. The soldiers who had come to her door believed her story and went off to search for the spies on the road back to the fords of the Jordan River. Think about Rahab’s decision. What on earth convinced her that she would do better betraying her own people and risking her own life just to save the lives of two men whom she had never seen before and didn’t know if she would ever see again? Like many of the split-second decisions we make, Rahab’s decision came out of who she was and what she believed about herself, about her world, and about God. What she believed gave her the courage to go against her people and her government when she faced a split-second decision. What fundamental belief caused Rahab to make that decision to hide the spies and betray her city? Rahab decided to bet her life and her future on Israel’s God. She had become convinced, as she told the spies, that their God was “God in heaven above and on the earth below.” And that is the only way you and I can confront our culture or go against the tide of society around us. We find the courage to do that only when we are convinced that “the Lord [our] God is God in heaven above and on the earth below.” ~ Pastor Scott
